WELCOME!

On behalf of the organizing team of MUNBP 2025, we would like to express our deepest condolences for the passing of Federico Mayor Zaragoza, who left us on December 19th at the age of 90. A former Minister of Education in Spain, Director-General of UNESCO, and recipient of the Creu de Sant Jordi in 1988, Mayor Zaragoza was a figure deeply committed to human rights and, above all, peace.

His career with the United Nations was marked by his promotion of programs aimed at fostering peace, human rights, and dialogue between cultures and states. His unwavering dedication to peace was evident in the creation of the Foundation for a Culture of Peace in 2000, through which he continued to tirelessly work for a fairer and more tolerant world. Even with the situation that happened in Catalonia in 2017 he wanted to solve it through dialogue and cooperation.

We will never be able to repay everything you have done for the planet. Moreover, we will always be grateful for your consideration of young people and for helping to develop programs such as MUNBP and IMUNBP.

His loss leaves a significant void in the international community, but his legacy will endure as a source of inspiration for future generations. Thank you.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time. Rest in peace.
